Untitled

Fervently, ferociously
Tell me you're perturbed
That I haven't eaten in days.
That I'm adhered to this expanse
Of cotton and polyester
In the lightless abyss
Of my cryptic cave.
That I weep at the mere sight
Of animals forming
Unusual alliances
And the reunion
Of elderly lovers and friends.

Fiercely, zealously,
Ask me how often
My mind lapsed into
A state of latency
And if I had once again
Conjured up nefarious creatures
Since my feet were tucked
Under the blanket
With my bottom lip
Contorted and despondent.

Frenzied, movingly,
Demand that I be heedful
On my commute.
That I wear that webbed sash
That I alert you
Of my unscathed arrival,
But not prematurely.
That I make no haste,
Leisurely chirping melodies
Of losing my innocence
And banana pancakes.

Passionately, lovingly,
Remind me about
How the world is full of
Sound pollution,
Deception and calamity.
But when you bask
In my honey eyes,
Incorrupt and devout,
You're home.
