It's easy to get drunk off
Those first kisses
Then came more
Penetrations of the skin
Run deep
Asphyxiation is intolerable
Forcing clothes to the floor
Only to be reclaimed in the shameful aftermath
What had it been
Her laughter
The way her hand fit in mine
Like we'd known each other an eternity
And not merely a day
This had to be
Real
This time
Surely
Dinners out
Become dinners in
Flowers for no reason
were supplanted by bills that had every reason to sober the drunk
AA
is real
Always Arguing
Why is your ex calling
I'm just going out with friends
Can't you do this one fuckn thing
this one fuckn time
You need to grow up and stop letting your mother run your life
Interchangeable lines
And lies
When you're both perfectly sober

Love... gets better with time & understanding ! Communication, is key.
A loving relationship isn't suppose to be detrimental to ones emotional & psychological wellbeing.
The latter is a sign of dysfunction, and one should bail when they see the sobering signs.
It all depends what you're willing to lose, or invest... and weigh up whether you're better off with someome else, who can add value as opposed to deplete your inner resources !
Someone, who's a little more well - balanced; both emotionally & psychologically is the icing on the cake...

A most powerful write, the story of far too many couples who begin a journey in bright sunlit bliss only to spiral into the darkness of despair after the newness wears off as it always does.
Like Naajir above, both need to contemplate which path to take when this fork is finally reached and both should be in agreement, for if not, one will continue in the darkness.

It's so easy to succumb to the physical attraction...falling under the influence of such a powerful "intoxicant". Unfortunately..few people realize that long-term (more committed ) relationships require much more than just sensual pleasure/gratification.

When you don't have an excuse ( such as drinking, lack of sleep, etc ) is the worst. This was a very sobering verse San Pedro.
