I met this kid when I was seven or eight
It was so long ago, I can't remember the day
When I first met him and had to tell him my name
Looking back, he's one of the greatest friends that I made

The iron that sharpens his fellow iron, your capacity
For good, thoughtfulness, class and truthfulness
Outweighs your knack for fooling around and being ludicrous

Your influence is still quite bright and luminous
It's no coincidence that we're practically duplicates
Living proof that us gentlemen actually do exist
Coz we were never found among the coolest kids
You think that we've grown to be the best of friends?
