Green All Around

Green like her eyes that shine in the sunlight.
They sparkle like emeralds that are thrown into
The ocean waves. It is like getting lost at night
When you are drowning in them, but it is you
That are being brought home. They are Mother
Nature’s gift, serving as a reminder of flowers
That bloom in the springtime and what other
People want to be a part of. You spend hours
Trying to over analyze everything all around
You or you can spend time getting utterly
Lost in the quietness and the soft sound
Of grass in between your fingertips as the early
Morning dew lays across them like butterflies.  
New life is always being born into this world
That constantly needs it. Forests of trees arise
From the ground where it all used to be curled
Up while being dry and lifeless. The greenery
That surrounds us is there to make us remember
Everything is alive. It is a well is blessed scenery
To be thankful for. We protect it as every ember
And fire threatens to destroy it all. Breathe it
All in to know what peace and serenity
Are like. Darling, every part, piece and bit
Of your soul will feel refreshed. Your identity
As a protector and human will be back.
Your life, filled with love will be on track.
