Darkness Eclipses your Soul
Untold rage caged within
an eruption overdue
pain is your ally
and misery your lover

Embracing the night sky
and shying from the light
Skulking in corners
Hidden from the sight of others
alone within your box of
self
sacrifice

Drowning in the depths
of despair
Clawing to reach the
surface
but every breath
 cut off at your throat
severed from oxygen

Loneliness eats at you
pain churning inside
bile rising to your oesophagus
and sitting like a leaden weight

The darkness within you
conjuring images of whips
and chains
that continue to hold you
tied through your chin
and pinning your hand's and feet
into
your hole
of
regret

Suffering your friend
in your mind set
of never letting go
I hold a key for you
my torch burning bright
as you hide your eyes
but I will not let you go
holding you as you cry tears
of blood
in my arms

Your wounds are open
leaking your pain
into the atmosphere
tainting all around you
fire burning within
but I will douse you
with my hope
with my honour

I will cleanse your wounds
with my tongue
with my lips
I will feed you
and temper down your fire
teach your rage how to
dream

in the shadows
