The Death of Butterflies

my scars
were like knives
dreaded to the touch
such was a tale of love
given..unreservedly
taken..undeservedly
manipulated through lust
a toxic mixture
bound to combust
turning
promises into dust

sans the stars

now
you are lost to me
 the fates accost me
through dreams
turned nightmares
rendering me exhausted
drained

as
thoughts of
you remain ingrained
too many
memories roam
so many sighs
and moans echo
within the hollow of
my inner chambers
i find myself asphyxiated
in a void where
only your air
resided

now
we are divided
into spaces
where apologies
won't suffice
still i wear you
like a vice
around my soul

constricted
conflicted
still addicted to
your sugar in the raw
ohh.. how you let me
indulge every
bitter sweet flaw

chaotic..incognito
intelligent..naive
divine...devilish
feminine..fierce
compassionate here
selfish there
sexually extravagant
creatively magnificent
my multifaceted
ms.marvel girl

no more

never again
will i feel heat emanate
from your core
i tore a hole
deep within
bore through your soul
with drippings of
my acidic love

alien to your Terra

that
one error of a man
deeply regretted
as the era of you and I
comes to an
unceremonious close
'tis indeed
a form of poetic justice
i suppose
