Love, Neverlasting
The silence of the once lively halls
Echoes in grieving ears
Tunnels that carried the joyous sound
Now lay empty without a voice
These eyes, too tired to cry
Are dams aching to burst
To rain tears of stale sorrow
Down a weathered sullen face
This void is prominent and visible
It stands agape with deterioration
Withered remains of a dying heart
Crumble to ash and whisk away
A new existence forged of loss
Callous and cold the numbness prevails
Hollow shell abides with repetition
As hope dies with the dream that spawned it
Echoes in grieving ears
Tunnels that carried the joyous sound
Now lay empty without a voice
These eyes, too tired to cry
Are dams aching to burst
To rain tears of stale sorrow
Down a weathered sullen face
This void is prominent and visible
It stands agape with deterioration
Withered remains of a dying heart
Crumble to ash and whisk away
A new existence forged of loss
Callous and cold the numbness prevails
Hollow shell abides with repetition
As hope dies with the dream that spawned it
