Live Like A Jim Morrison Song

the poppies in New Delhi
grew spikes inside your veins
i could always see
their venomous kiss
as i gazed at pinpoint irises
you would deny the love affair
with this lady in red
but as a woman cast aside
i always knew
i'd pretend not to see
that you were captivated by another
for a time i chased her as well
a menage a trois
risque in nature
i fell for the life
the orgasmic pleasure was divine
we fucked like a Jim Morrison song
with great golden copulations
soon we found her
to be a jealous mistress
demanding our individual time
the days spent in her thrall
hexed & enchanted
we no longer saw one another
searching each other's eyes
as poppies bloomed there
cold to one another's touch
heroin sunrises & sunsets
we lost our minds
i got mine back
& you never did
