Life's Sonnet #4
Half moon descending 'tween darkness and light,
It's a lonely moon, half of it is gone,
The other half makes the moon full and bright,
Like it is now the poor thing is withdrawn.
Even a quarter moon has some mystique,
Sharp pointed endings, a definite curve,
But like it is now it looks rather bleak,
He's sad for the other half he deserves.
A full moon brings joy, beneath it is sweetness,
No one says, "How beautiful that half moon."
Once a month the cycle is repeated,
It is a sin not to let the moon bloom.
The tragedy in the Heavens above,
It's sad when the moon only has half love.
