Death Sentence

They who sit in judgement
Never suffer the penalties
They in their wisdom
Hand down to others
Had they to suffer similar
Maybe their decisions
Would be strangely different

A terminally ill baby
Lies dying in a hospital
It has one chance
Albeit an outside one
How could anyone
Just say no

Doctors and judges
Say no because the child
Is not theirs
With their wealth and power
They would move heaven
And earth to save it

It’s not their baby
Easily they say no
No, to the chance
This baby, this child
Sentenced to death

Humanity, where is your humanity
Any hope cruelly snatched away
Those doctors, those judges
Give me your first born
For me to take to
The executioner
And restore the balance
