Beneath the Boardwalk

she sweet-talked him
he followed her
under the Boardwalk
near the sea
tide drifting out
clothes quickly shed
afterward . . .
enticement to spend the night
she's dangerously
insane
aww, but she has such moist green eyes
they melt whatever man they're fixated on
they're fixated on him now
moments before he is about to tell her
he's fresh out of love to allocate
she sucks into his intellect
and gives the sea a chance to
maneuver his thoughts
told him she knew
he'd dreamed of being her lover
always wanted to be with her
wherever she wandered
knowing she could trust him
and so . . .
after all she'd said . . .
rested her head upon his shoulder
the smell of seaweed came from her hair
as he caressed her soft skin
which was now somewhat scaly to the touch
still . . .
the man sighed
said . . .

I'll love you forever and a day
