Clumsy

Opening boxes without any labels,
Never knowing what I will find.
Will it be a gold or bronze fable?
Hoping for insight, but my eyes are blind,
To all the world’s secrets.
Nature is a beast, you cannot tame it,
Or keep it, so set it free,
From you and me,
For we only ever break branches and walk on the leaves.

Dead trees do not talk;
Mankind has a wooden heart.
Fix it with metal nails or snap a twig in half.
Mind your step as you stomp;
You are waking all the bones.
Here is another species; please leave it alone.

Use a camera, not your hands.
Let it go on with its days plans.
It is an ant; you are a man.
It does not want to shake your hand.
It is made of glass, you are a wrecking ball.
Take a careful step backwards; you do not need another wall.

If you pull at the food chain once too often without need,
Then who will be left to carry the seeds?
And find a place to bury it?
Who will plant the wildlife we see?
We all need the bees to live,
So leave nature alone…please.
