An interesting observation David. Depends what the fall-out is I guess, but eventually, concealing the truth will consume you.

I agree with you in the long term and another problem with lying is that you usually have to lie about your lies - not easy :-) thank you for the read and the wise words :-)

Some people would rather be lied too if the truth would be more painful. Some live within fantasies because reality is constantly painful. The truh will only set you free when you imprison yourself, but then there might be another prison waiting for you... yup, lie all the time, it's the best policy...

Re. IF
David...
This is a shrewd observation, and one that is frequently considered--or should be--depending, as Purpleheart suggested,on exactly What the ("fall-out") consequences are...or could be. Also, i think, under certain circumstances, one has to also decide: Is the response//statement an absolute lie, or is the actual truth being altered--just a bit--in order to "better" those circumstances. The line between can often be come blurred...as we struggle with this decision./(choice).
[And, sometimes, (even) beneath the lies......lies a bit of truth--anyhow! ] Somehow, in the end, i think that--ultimately--we have to remain true ourselves... to find the real serenity, and satisfaction in life. ( IMHO)
I really appreciate how this piece has me thinking beyond its initial interpretation! This is one of the reasons that i truly appreciate/enjoy so much of your poetry! Thank you for sharing! e-(((huuugggsss))) your way! xo.

I think we need to think about the motivation and depth of the lie - there is a thin line between lying and diplomacy :-)
Glad you enjoyed it and it got you thinking - so it's all good :-)
Ehugs on their way :-)

David my friend, I believe we touched on this once before when a write of yours touched on this subject...I'm a truth girl...first and foremost because even if it hurts, it actually shows how much love and respect I have for you and second, lies are never memories...they are therefore harder to recall, they must be "remembered" and they will surface eventually, but that is just my opinion. I do love it when you make me ponder!
