I Know of a Place - Villanelle

I know of a place down the road,
At the town's edge is where I go,
When I need to lighten my load.

Before my head starts to implode,
A long measured walk I take slow,
I know of a place down the road,

There are no secret, hidden codes,
But I guess it’s a riddle though,
When I need to lighten my load.

It is a place where no one goes,
My special place I feel a glow,
I know of a place down the road,

When I'm there I feel calmness flow,
Time slows down, my life it I owe,
When I need to lighten my load.

When troubles start bothering me,
And life seems a nightmarish show,
I know of a place down the road,
When I need to lighten my load.
