Understand Love....
Love.....
A very Complex emotion, a false but blissful optical illusion of what should be just.
Something that is not visible, but yet a feeling that can either be unbearable or something that is just too good to be true.
See, Pain can Kiss your soul, Fondle with your Brain, Embrace your Emotions, Fuck with what you can Comprehend, & can be Physical.
Whether a broken heart emotionally, can cause physical damage to your heart, literally.
Pain can be avoided, for the most parts, while love can be inevitable.
Love is a drug, where withdraws can be fatal when detaching.
Sometimes you can be lucky and slowly come off from it.
To others one can try cold turkey, but to some, they fail to even bare the thought.
To feel Love, one will always entwine with pain, it's a main side effect.
When pain arrives one will never know when, but know it will happen.
Is that something you would want to involve yourself with just for a deceitful desire?

The desire (or our naive expectations) might be deceitful indeed....but a life without having known love is not life, only sterile existence imho

Very true, but as one becomes heartless, or cold hearted is due to the fact that one will forbid themselves to fall again. They cause pain to others due to the fact one is afraid to feel pain themselves.

You are correct, but becoming heartless can be a good defence if used in moderation. Opening up to the very few ones who will appreciate what will be given to them, and discard the rest. A castle wall may appear cold and unyelding to many, nevertheless it protects something precious. Causing pain to others...the ones that will do this are those consumed totally by pain. Then, they can give to others only what they have inside, darkness and sadness. Those who have build their castle, open the gate only to very few.

And yet the castle doors are open, some out of the few, can hide their masculines very well to break you down even more from inside. It is very rare in this day and age where your demons can actually get along with someone else's demons.

It's just a risk you choose yourself to take. Some for the experience, others for a life long journey to a goal that is inevitable, and to the rest they just avoid all together.

It is a very interesting (and somewhat confused) understanding of the concept of love. At the beginning it is presented as an illusion. Then as a drug, and later as a feeling, ending up as a deceitful desire. However, of all this confusion, the narrator warns us with the opening words: "Love. A very complex emotion"... that if one comes across it, eventually one will be pained. And that can be an understanding. I liked it.

When you put it that way, I understand your perspective. Poetry is something I am still learning myself. I tend to fall off topic sometimes when writing I just get so lost in the moment. By the time I'm done; to some- they get where I'm coming from, to others - lost and contemplating what point I am trying to get at, but thank you. ☺
