She Made Me Look
I looked for higher ground
It was a long climb
Not to mention
My fear of heights
Don't look down
So in 27 seconds
I had warned her
Of my idiot status
She seemed quietly appreciative
I frowned from habit
This startled her
I should have known
But didn't poor fool
Somehow
She understood
Over-stated
She took me
For all that I was not
I loved her for it
And still do
Under foot
Was that what I said?
So hard to recall
Through the Arabian nights
And all that black beauty
It was a long climb
Not to mention
My fear of heights
Don't look down
So in 27 seconds
I had warned her
Of my idiot status
She seemed quietly appreciative
I frowned from habit
This startled her
I should have known
But didn't poor fool
Somehow
She understood
Over-stated
She took me
For all that I was not
I loved her for it
And still do
Under foot
Was that what I said?
So hard to recall
Through the Arabian nights
And all that black beauty
