[ Spiritual ] Life Drawing
Life is a handful of sketchbooks
you juggle with one hand
Some drawings turn out great---
---others fall short of your expectations
and you take an eraser to those
try again
and erase
try again
and erase
until the fabric of your sketch paper
becomes worn to the point of torn
and you are left with little choice
but to start from scratch
with a fresh, clean sheet
or move on to sketch
a different subject
altogether

Broski, I'm taking you up on ditching "over". The rest I will consider. Thanks.
Re. Life Drawing
I Love your Wisdom ( and will leave the critique for Todski on this one ).
You have the ability to encapsulate it into the foundation of a Poem, so that everyone can partake the fruit of it's tree.
Present and Future readers. That is the magic of Poetry that few know. It houses direction for the Spirit like a signpost.

It is a metaphor for aspects of my life that brings me a measure of comfort.

I keep forgetting how humble you are regarding accolades. Despite being well-deserved.

The effort of persistence isn't rewarded nearly as often as we'd like, is it? "Try, try, try again" is good advice, until it isn't, and it can be so difficult to know when it's time to put the pencils down on a dearly-desired subject.
There is a difference between worn and torn. That line speaks to continued attempts, even when it's obvious that the paper will soon be useless, to try to get the sketch right. To erase until you've torn through could be read as dedication, desperation, delusion, as well as other ideas that start with different letters of the alphabet.

But can you really do that? I mean just erase a part of your life when it's already drawn?

Re: Re. Life Drawing
In terms of trying to achieve a different outcome, the erasing would come in the form of removing energy and focus from the perpetuation of desires or fears and beliefs that cause you to experience the three dimensional world in a unique fashion.
