A Poet's Flight

This is for the DUP competition "Visual Poetry for Social Media - The Power of Words" which is for a poetic piece no more than 50 words in length.  The image is also by me.

I fucking love this!

I love how as writers we can immortalize thoughts and emotions in what we write - to me I love how when we get that urge to write that we have to get it out on a scrap of paper, packet of smokes a beer mat, whatever (I pretty much ALWAYS write on paper first), I just love how we have that calling in our blood.

Thank you so much, Ben!  Oh yes, I love what makes us writers/poets, and what goes with it, whether it be ferocious insomnia, or what shakes us to our souls when it hits - and for me, that's almost 24/7!  I'm so glad you feel this.  I started as a trad artist originally, so whenever I'm up to it, I enjoy doing art to match my ink! :)

I express from the heart of myself...

The language of the poet...

I spend my weary days expressing from from the spleen of my brain the arrhythmic choreography of the subtle traps and bombs of my personal mind-field.  

But to put down a single line of well crafted verse. That speaks of truth - my heart to another, that is the grace of moon through the silvered clouds...
