Flight of the Icarus

This is the only life I’ve known
These four walls made of stone
A familiar place yet unknown
Will I be able to call it home?

I never wanted to go outside
In a scene of hate and demise
The comfort I witness inside
Can seduce the heart of wise

Living life in a looping dream
A world in vivid color scheme
Lucid water of running stream
Watch the lights down agleam

I was captivated by its beauty
Calmed my sorrow and misery
Promising a sublime prophesy
A paradise in a new-born city

I forever can never be whole
A catalogue of cluttered soul
Fleeting hope of burnout coal
Fortune inked in ancient scroll

Give me wings so I can soar
Match my valor as wild boar
My courage will pursue more
Write my tale among folklore

This is my claim to be on top
Amidst feeble and the broken
Voices repressed as a pin drop
Abnegate their will over again

Scorched by pride and lust
Thus heart wilted in aghast
My fate, a thing of the past
And my resolve will be crash
