EGO, SOMNUM EXTERRERI I: ORIGIN

I see her
Standing rose
Neck exposes

A hand print appears
On that flesh so clear
I mouth a phrase into her ear

Show her something she won't feel

Her strand is thin
I'm born within

My gift of amnesty
A pathos unfurls
To entrap

Occurring between each breath
And aligned with perfection
Find myself alive again
Each day that wanes perception

Forced back
Into the disease

Smoke thickens around the rope
Without motion, yet ever lost
A lonely bough upon the slope
With the skull that it cradles

Lured back
There is no release

Inside myself I do not see
The carrier weeps
To be freed
A ghostly stare upon me

And the rain that pours down
Never ending, yet
I'm not the one who drowns
With faces to forget

A smile in the dark
That imagery I absolve

A wilted heart
Back to the start
Dust in the eye
Sleep now, inside

I see her
Supine rose
Face exposes

Dig deeper underneath
Take what isn't clean
But save the trace
Would be a waste

I want more
Take her again
