Cat Scratch Fever

Written on my back with red lacquered nails
She spells lust in hen scratch font
It's no poem, with no intent to be
She's the lesser of that kind of beautiful

I thought I loved her once
Poised above her, having shot my poison deep
I told her just to feel it, hoping the feel would dissipate
And it did

She's careful with the marks she leaves and plays with me more gently now, having defined our roles
My girl is a call girl
But she has fallen hard

It's my cheap, slovenly affair
She murders my hours with tricks, Ameliorating her tidbits of compassion by sketching me in as the beast above her

En masse, I'll be gone one day
Cab out front, bandages on back
And the horror will be remarkable
when she figures out how costly 'cheap' was

*thank you to the ever lovely Mr. JohnFeddeler for the conclusion
