[ On Poetry ] Scratch and Sniff

        
It is far more advantageous to   
make a mole hill out of a mountain    
when it comes to assessing our       
poetic abilities    
     
Cynical?    
     
No!    
     
To think we have reached    
the pinnacle, is to believe    
our shit doesn't stink    
     
While most celebrated authors    
we consider the brightest    
and best in the business    
in terms of being published    
may have mounted Everest    
     
I'm convinced they would    
freely admit to having    
written their fair      
share of turds    
     
sniff sniff    
     
Here, take a whiff of this    
     
for I haven't even scratched    
the surface of what I can do    
with a handful of words
