Freedom

Well there's a boy
With long hair
Driving his grandpa's truck
He's got the windows rolled down
Music turned up
He thinks he's got it so good

There's a girl
Riding shotgun
Got her feet on the dash
Peace sign anklet on
Says she's a superstar

Ain't that freedom
For you and me
Ain't that freedom
Why can't they let it be
Ain't that freedom
From the ones that gave all
May freedom never fall

There's a young woman
Love is on her tee-shirt
A cross around her neck
She's in a bad neighborhood
Caring for the homeless
She says...
Freedom isn't being free
From something
Freedom is being free
To do something unselfishly
Help those that you can
Ask God for strength, he'll understand

Ain't that freedom
For you and me
Ain't that freedom
Why can't they let it be
Ain't that freedom
From the ones that gave all
May freedom never fall

There's a man in a wheelchair
Scars on his face, his legs aren't there
As he watches those college kids
Burning the American flag
He says...
I fought and my buddies died
To give you the freedom
To destroy the American pride

Ain't that freedom
For you and me
Ain't that freedom
Why can't they let it be
Ain't that freedom
From the ones that gave all
May freedom never fall

Ain't that freedom
For you and me
Ain't that freedom
Why can't they let it be
Ain't that freedom
From the ones that gave all
May freedom never fall
