Antiscia
When Light transcends
through mirror-degrees
darkness balances.
From this spring board
of Experience emerges
an Antiscian Catalyst
illuminating shadow work;
reserves a mansion with our
names carved on the mailbox.
When the Reflection mirrors
either side, their days shall
be equaled to their days,
and their nights to their nights,
even unto the equaled length
of their minutes and hours.
That thick, fibroserous sac
of Heart cavity is ripped
in half, emptying protective
liquid against external pain
and shock until severed
wholly from fear and pride.
Its naked vulnerability
rises as a bubble
easily popped
by the slightest touch
of man or Nature;
rogue finger of a frond,
sticky palm of a child.
We Believe by Faith
we'll survive the elevation
without crash-landing
into the next Life.
We'd Gratefully burst
of our own accord;
Source the nothingness
not having died once.

Must be the deep water pressure, Todski. Make sure you rise slowly to avoid the bends. :D
Re. Antiscia
Hello Ahavati, one thing I love about your poems is that I'm often challenged to reach for the dictionary and learn a new word, usually something medical, metaphysical or astrological - on this occasion starting with the title of the poem.
Having got that, it made much more sense to me and I could begin to let it wash over my mind, and occasionally dig into a particular line or two.
"From this spring board
of Experience" ...
... subjective experience is the bringer of glad tidings, uncorrupted by analysis - I like this
"Its naked vulnerability
rises as a bubble
easily popped
by the slightest touch
of man or Nature;" ...
... reminded me of how we can be triggered by even the most minor of events (even merely "rougue {rogue?} finger of a frond, sticky palm of a child"), which I take as a gift from the Universe to deal with the next bit on our journey of awaking - a kind of daily spiritual homework brought unmistakably right to the door of our heart. (possibly an interpretation of 'sufficient unto the day are the evils thereof').
"We Believe by Faith
we'll survive the elevation
without crash-landing
into the next Life." ...
... have you ever come across The Pathwork Lectures?
"Source the nothingness
not having died once ...
... I feel instinctively and intuitively these are the right words, sounding to me at first a somewhat abstract/vague ending but my intellect (always the last to get it, way behind instinct, intuition, inspiration, imagination) will slowly catch up with the plot.
Thank you for your poetry. :)

Josh, thank you. I truly appreciate your time and analysis. And grateful that I can still teach something at my age!
Antiscia is something I just recently learned about myself, even after 30 years of astrological study. It's like it had fallen through a crack in the closet and I saw the corner and pulled it out. :D
I do love uncorrupted analysis. That's why I hate discussing my poems - I feel like I influence the reader's imagination to conform to my explanation.
Good catch on the rogue. Corrected & appreciated.
I believe everything defined within our limited parameters of good and bad to be a gift from the Universes that challenges our personal growth toward a higher evolution of ourselves.
I've heard of the Pathwork Lectures ( probably from my biblical studies ); however, I can't recall reading any. I'll gladly put them on my reading list.
Sometimes instinct and intuition are all we have to go on, Josh. Sometimes logic and reason alone will kill the plot.
Thank you for reading.

I'm trying to avoid reading Josh's comments to achieve my own interpretation / understanding, but I'm afraid this one's a bit above my pay grade and may take some time.

When you start off speaking of light and darkness and mirrors, I automatically associate this with an individual interacting with facets of him or herself through a magnetic process of like attracting like(s) and opposite(s). We may consciously gravitate towards people with similar beliefs like members of a religious grouping, but we also subconsciously / sub atomically / spiritually gravitate towards people with similar to identical beliefs.

Exactly; almost like ferrofluid in a bottle ( other wise dormant and stationary ), that reacts when it's exposed to a magnet. It's exactly why we feel differently when exposed to different people vs. the same. Some can knock us down physically and it won't affect us at all. We just get up, brush off, and carry on. While others, despite how distant across the room, or country/world, affect us energetically. We react and mold in accordance to that exposure, and the power thereof.
I actually equate it more to blood ( vs. ferrofluid, but it's a good example for those who don't believe in the blood aspect ). "The blood is the Life"...and carries on through generations. It remembers and activates when in the presence of itself, i.e. - Soul Tribe despite the current role they play, e.g. - soul mate, catalyst ( Antiscia / Contra-antiscia ), guide, et al.
I know you've felt a temperature flux when in the presence of certain people. We all have ( I'm not talking about anger ). I attribute that to the blood recognizing itself, thus stirring more deeply than any imagining could explain nor compare.
As you said, the subconscious knows beyond a doubt what the conscious may resist.
You get it.

LOL! Don't pop it! :D

Ahavati doesn't write personal than this. When you walk and keep walking 🚶 like I do, you sometimes pass through stinky alleys, you keep walking 🚶. why you had to tease my dyslexic brain, poet?

this was truly fascinating my sister - an intricate thought to balance a verse on and what a great word: Antiscia
Beautiful image of a rising heart - vulnerable to fear and pride
fantastic end and riposte (the infinite) to the vulnerable

The complexity of your thoughts
in my opinion, are only out matched
by the depth of your soul...you my dear mesmerize my mind. :)

Such an interesting poem about a fascinating concept...
It's so complex that I don't fully understand it, but I feel it...
Great write, dear Ahavati!

"Feeling" it is more important ( to me ) than understanding it, Duende. Is this not the literal walk of Faith ( not by sight )? Thank you.

This is a poem that would benefit greatly from the addition of a spoken word video; hearing it read aloud would bring out all the richness of the language that you've embedded in the piece, through your heady use of words and rhythm. Though I struggle to picture the literal meanings of the poem the emotions are just as potent; the violence in the second half of the poem is all the more sheer and shocking because it's presented in such an emotional, non-literal way.

Thanks. I stopped reading because my mic is shite. I'm saving for a new
one.
You nailed it on the importance of emotions to balance logic and reason ( vs. the alternative I so often hear ).
Thanks, Jack.
