Bones break boy

Bones within begin
poking out
provoking
release from body cage
The child within craves
freedom
but dares not
run away

Finding place of comfort
within space that is known

Frustration slices ribs
rattles body from within
blades saw with jagged slashes
working to pierce the outer skin

Child breaking his own arm
to make
it easier to unchain

Slipping out of shackles
he trembles from the pain
still savors thirst for victory
inspiring him with hope

Hammer's hand
thrusting fast
through shadow
striking down
fractures skull of boy

Man keeps chains
on child tethered tight
like dog inside a cage

Cowers from raised hands
but more afraid
to be ignored

or accidentally
peeing on the floor.

Boy's desperation
boils and festers
forcing him
to take a risk
knows the plan
and what to do

Restless bones
twisting boy's
broken
wrist through steely shackles
he slips hands free bolts
outside
in veil of night.

Skeleton breaks
out destroys body encased
restraints
pierces mind of
troubled boy
he allows it to
ruminate

The monster's
bones within
are now set free
as the boy's
enslaved again

Demons toy and taunt
suppressing him
to force surrender

Instead child
retreats within his
haunted head

Inside calming center's eye
of his long familiar storms
