A Vision
the moon fell
from the heavens
& was swallowed by the sea
the water turned to blood
beasts emerged
from a tumultuous ocean
crawled onto dry land
seeking to devour
all in its path
& the people fell down
worshiped the beasts
that had the power
to call the stars
from their seats in space
they performed wonders
in the sight of all mankind
their minds marked
with delusions & confusion
did not see the true King
when he appeared
& they were taken
up in a mighty cloud
just to come crashing
back to Earth
left to wander
among the devastation
the world had become

Re. A Vision
Such a traumatic piece of writing, Brenda. An ingenuous way
to write of the creation, and much more believable than that
other fable. Super rich wording. If you wasn't thinking creation
. . . I was. Heh.Heh

It's interesting how so many of us are having the same kind of "epiphanies" or visions of a bleak and struggling world. I agree with the comment above, it felt a bit creation but with a twist at the end. The promised land was not the manna what they'd been fed. Beautiful and brilliant write, lovely dark angel

I really like this but I am not entirely sure why, or if we actually need a reason to like something :-)

But for the beasts in plural, looks like a re-rendering of Revelation chapters 13 to 17.

I wish I could have visions as potent as this one, Lady Crim. A fascinating view of that true king and the fate of the beasts. Bleak but thrilling work!

My Beautiful Brenda...so many profound lines in this ink...it is funny how the mind works and we place such high regard on which is not deserving of such in the end...clouding our own gut instincts...yes this captured it all for me...
"worshiped the beasts

to call the stars

they performed wonders
in the sight of all mankind
their minds marked
with delusions & confusion
did not see the true King

Wonderful ink lovely one! I love you!
