Deceptive Imagination
I kissed you last night
It felt just like the first time
Only much sweeter
Our lips fit perfectly
As they had in thousands of prior meetings
It felt like home
It was better this time
Because we earned it
We fought through everything
Cast aside foolish pride
Forgiveness of transgressions
Made with hasty emotions

Reality is such a let down

Is that why they call it the harsh light of day? I read the first bit thinking happy thoughts for you and then that last stanza and I sighed. Been there too. Perfectly articulated.

Sorry to have mislead you Ash haha. This piece is not an indicator of my overall happiness. Just an expression of the emotions of a moment. Sometimes a fantasy is better than the reality that would be. This is probably the case with the inspiration here. Thanks for reading and the compliments. I'll try to stray into happier topics in future writings ;)
