Jake
you're the poetic part of me
the pieces I can't reach
stained glass pain
so beautiful to behold
each panel of our life
tells a story
an addicted mamma
who set a path
for your gentle soul
to walk through the fire
there was no other way for you
I crossed into hell
carried you with me
only one way back
& it was through the flames
yet you don't hate me
your spirit too bright
for a world such as this
a poet's soul
much wiser than I
you make me see things
that are hidden from me
with your resilience
we aren't talking now
I let you down again
built your dad up
just to have his disappointment
crash down upon your head
I miss you tonight
hope you will pick up the pen
before you ever follow
in the shadow of my self demise

Beautiful one, this brought tears to my eyes. I hope he one day returns and you can work things out. They mean so much to us, don't they?

Such a sad but beautiful write, Crim. I wish there was some way your friend could read these honest and heartfelt lines. I think he would come around if he did. I hope he picks up that pen sometime very soon to write "Brenda." One can only hope.....

What a beautiful tribute and words of wisdom that I pray he heed.
He's a very handsome young man, Brenda. He has an amazing aura about him.

This is amazing and I think you understand that writing heals and so does sharing it, it's like the courage it takes creates that reward.....

My Beautiful Brenda...as resilient and as wise beyond his years as you feel he is, I am sure he will see the situation for what it is and you two will be brought together again. A bond between a mother and son is one unlike others...they say women fall in love with their sons...my prayers are being sent for a resolve to come for the both of you.
I love you very much!
