EXTINGUISHED

A flame to be a guide
Portable candle light
When all the power failed
Though less than frail
The fury of the chill wind
Driving long nails within
Panic soon stealth delivered
The shadow that eclipsed her
In the brief flash of
Lightning from up above
And far worse than the dark
Was what blew out the spark
