Help From Where You Least Expect It
My dog is gone almost 4 weeks
The grief is easing a bit
My wife and I were devastated by the loss
We feel good about the life we afforded her
She had all our love and protection
Same as you would do for a child
Still the sadness lingers
Last night around 3am
My wife cooling down from a hot flash
Half asleep she said out loud
"I'm sorry Ginger"
Broke my heart a little more
I found this dog in the utility closet
Can't remember why we bought her
Gave her some air and put her in the living room
In the spot where Ginger used to hang out
I call her "Dalmy" short for Dalmatian
It makes us laugh, we talk to her, take what's given
The grief is easing a bit
My wife and I were devastated by the loss
We feel good about the life we afforded her
She had all our love and protection
Same as you would do for a child
Still the sadness lingers
Last night around 3am
My wife cooling down from a hot flash
Half asleep she said out loud
"I'm sorry Ginger"
Broke my heart a little more
I found this dog in the utility closet
Can't remember why we bought her
Gave her some air and put her in the living room
In the spot where Ginger used to hang out
I call her "Dalmy" short for Dalmatian
It makes us laugh, we talk to her, take what's given
