Resurrection

CYCLE III: WATER

As Bearded Iris glists in wakened rain,
At morning’s rise, brings full her petals’ fire,
Her sheltered coves loose mounting storms’ restrain,
In ruddied glow, dawn thunderhead's require.
For age has mouth delivered measured flow,
The rivers' given draft that She'd take in.
But morning now gives turbulenting throes,
Churns waters that a new accept begin.
In broken rhythms, wetted slaps increase,
As calm gives way to surely coming surge.
The waves of Her enrage will flood surcease,
With gaining roars, both cove's and head’s expurge.
So all renews, though driven squalls impair,
Accepting gift of flooding storm's beware.
