Devil's Rest
I always seem to find
there's only so much time
for Joyful beginnings
and dreadful ends
so when the sun falls
finally fading into dark
I hope to find strength
to move forward
accepting no regrets
when the time comes
to meet my maker
all the pain I felt
it led me to this moment
the one where I walk
beside the girl I love
in the worst of times
or in the best
we will never again
be apart
even in death
are ashes will
become one
I had to find out
what else was out there
to appreciate what I have
even though
the journey almost killed me
I can now
hold her longer
kiss her harder
not thinking of any other
walking far away
from yesterday
when this devil rest
he rest his heart
in an angel's arms
making me realize
there is no right
nor wrong
just choices
that can make us
or break us
we all have wings
to fly up high

And the choices we make
