[ NaPo 2017 ] Seam Stress

Yeah, we may be in sync
but I have had enough of
this imitation game

Your fabric is nowhere
near as tough as you think

Cut from folded cloth
were shaped the same

but not really

I'm the other half
you wanted to be

the one who likes to laugh
while you wallow in the wash
cycling through your misery

wishing one of us dyed
so the other could take her place
in the dresser, on the line

It's a stresser, alright
but I'll be fine as you continue
your unraveling at the seams
