DARK KINETIC

A blue moon night
Clouds were prophetic
Wistful I, 'neath their cover
A thick mist robe
The dark kinetic
Weight of bygones smother

I walk the road through the forest of petrichor
Scent of alone-ness wafts in the space between oaks
And the bluish light reflected from rain-soaked leaves
My Eden is of Stygian design, of shrub and stone

My thoughts molder in this veil of cognizance
Deliverance under the guise of piety
These lunar halls were once my omnibus
Now the pages weep of neglect

Somehow
In my rise
I'm shutting out the light
I fall now
To kill what I enjoyed
Lest I lose the void

I ponder misfortune as a product of discord
A substance without substance, a crier against the gust
To scour the remnants is to become entangled more
By the tension that lurks beneath the dust

And every step remains daunting
But ever edifying
At the phrontistery of reverie

And every breath was a storm
That I reaped with my waking
The calm that I sought was destroyed at my coming

Ire of a thousand stars, the light their epitaph
Gone before their glow received
The bridge of time and its opacity
The ocean of my regrets

A promised end for what's begun
As sorrow bleeds from two to one
Throughout the dream I remain chained
To claw with soiled hands, the grave

Somehow
In my rise
I'm shutting out the light
I fall now
To kill what I enjoyed
Lest I lose the void

And I dream
To escape the nightmare
