Memories and Moonbeams

the days are no more
when I thought of myself as
Superman
I could travel to the moon
if I fancied it
yes, gone are the days
such as those I used to bring up in my thoughts
in my memories
eh . . . the memory can  be destructive
all it is good for
is to show you what have lost
but don’t go to pieces
over it
after all that thought
do you see anything familiar
she looked toward the bed
and the broad stream of moonlight
surging across the floor
its beam coming from many eons ago
ahhh . . .
she begins removing
her clothes
the smell of the roses
she has been weeding around
I think of tree-planting
back when I was still in high school
the wonderful smell of her
and my nostalgia of my younger days
is so exotic
I barely remembered to
kick off my shoes
as I joined her and the moonbeam
on that bed
