In silence, I stand
Kneeling before the grave
you grieve
Hold my hand
Time for you to be brave
Let us take our leave
for the greatest gift we can give
is to allow the Living
to continue living
Onward to the Promised Land
exit this realm of Make-Believe

I love that you capitalized Living.
This is one of the very fews poems where an empasis space/stanza break mid-sentence works beautifully.
This write encapsulates the tenderness of compassion and firmness of guidance.

I went to make a copy of my poem and discovered it was entered in a contest.

Sorry! I was trapped in a worm hole...oh wth. I met a smokin' space worm and spent the week in Quadrant 51 on planet Altarae in the Dolorian Galaxy. My bad.
