When We Were Young

life seemed so perfect
when we were young
the world was ours
It felt as if we were unstoppable
and life was not so miserable

so tell me how to look you in the eyes
knowing you’ve been consumed by drugs
don’t tell me I’m living in a fantasy
you secretly want to be there too
it’s just so hard telling you the truth

you don’t listen to a god damn thing I say
what’s the point in fighting anyway?
you put me down for caring for your life
so go fuck yourself, friend
I’m still here ether way

life seemed so perfect
when we were young
our eyes had such reason behind them
now that reason has faded away
and it kills me that I can’t save you

I can’t help but look back
I used to be able to depend on you
now I only depend on you to lie
when you won’t admit your faults
it takes away from our innocence

you could have just stayed away from the drugs
and now you spend your day lying on floors
while I spend my days wondering where you are
we were special, but now I say goodbye forever
and there is just no going back
