Allow me to clear cut

I am but one branch of a tree               
embracing the notion that I am

shouldn't be difficult to grasp            
for you Drama Departmentalists           
given you are all well trained to cry wolf            
and feign the occasional sigh or gasp          
at the direction of your chairman          
currently occupying the head seat on the          
Sub Committee of Overly Blown Affairs            
           
Now, as a poet in Creative Writing
why should I limit myself            
to being a singular personality?          
          
Perhaps if you stopped treading the rumor mill          
took a stroll through nature for a change of pace          
you'd understand why you are so one-dimensional          
in this three-dimensional space          
           
I'm not sure I can explain it any better
to a window silled, growth stunted          
deceptively manicured bonzais          
only putting on the appearance of            
being larger than life whenever           
their director declares it is
