Intuitively known, the process involved.
Progression of shame, illness evolved.
Empirical cognition, numbed yet raw.
Persistently engaged, an incessant brawl.
Brutal and cruel, the enemy me.
Hostile in darkness, a constant melee.
Determined combat, futile skirmish.
Exhausted and drained, ceaseless anguish.
Madness leading to unease?
Or the drink, feeding disease?
Certainty exists, placed in between.
Embraces a solution, not previously seen.

Like this 'doorway' into the inner world of cognizance.
Rhyming couplets tend to need a regular rhythm; the strong end-rhyming carries it when longer-syallable words are hard to scan. Nice. Thank you.
