Land Of Broken Dreams
This is the land of broken dreams
feel free to walk your favourite plank
for nothing here is as it seems
that’s why the new-born baby screams
this is your gift of life on earth
and if you’re gobsmacked, staring blank
the only way’s to birth again
in consciousness for all it’s worth
this is the fast-track, you are here
to learn we’re all of equal rank
so treating life with love, not fear
will underpin your new career
where love is unconditional
match-funded by the cosmic bank
illusions are provisional
and justice unequivocal
this is the land of happy dreams
to which you rise from where you sank
the inner gives you all the means
and grace enlivens many scenes
this is the end of all the dreams
as light dispels the dark and dank
so now your mind is sharp and lean
feel free to junk the memes.

If I've read this correctly (not saying there is a CORRECT way, per se, for individual readers), it's the evolution of life through age. The first stanza opening with the screaming baby and the final ending with the end of dreams - the mind reference of sharp and lean to wisdom from age.
Then again, maybe not. Maybe you're just sick of seeing silly memes about that place!
This was a bit of a winding road for me around a mountain through a few villages that had straight roads. I enjoyed the ride, but am not sure I quite comprehended the foreign language on the signs beside the English ones. Most of all, I think that was okay - I think the ride is what counted.

You're right in that I see the poem as a journey through various stages of life in the 'earth-school' (as I call it) where our primary purpose is to evolve in consciousness. This path seems to involve (like every fairy-tale) us 'doing everything wrong first' (despite warnings) and then there a phase of redeeming the situation where we eventually get to experience the 'happy dream'. In the end I believe we aim to see through and move beyond the Maya/illusion/dream-world to some greater reality. From this stand-point of clarity we are able to act to junk the memes (rather than merely react to them). That's the grand theory, anyway. Glad you enjoyed the ride.
