A Dream
Moonlight on a path
The hours felt like minutes
time flying with astonishing speed
I felt a need to clutch the dream closer
knowing deep down it would slip away
my hands mean nothing
I bow my head
and I walk away
No promises only dreams
wishes and hopes never fulfilled
fantasy clashes with reality
reality always has the upper hand
I close my eyes
and I dream again
the only nourishment my soul needs
is the fulfillment of a dream
Just let me dream
