CHANGES - RHYMING AGONY QUESTIONS
"I’m going through changes hormonal
Which leave me feeling so abnormal.
I’m ashamed to let my man touch me,
Because I am getting so sweaty.
We met before the problem started;
Perhaps it’s better if we parted?"
"Am I in late-life pregnancy,
Or has the menopause reached me?
It’s two periods I have missed
Since I last ‘passionately kissed’.
I am aged nearly fifty years;
Could you allay my doubts and fears?"
"I write this letter with a cause;
I’m going through the menopause.
Now that my periods have stopped,
Is there still risk of being “copped”,
Or will I need to take precaution
To prevent need for abortion?"

When younger I used to furtively read the 'problem pages' of the women's magazines my mother and an aunt then took (it was the heydays of Claire Rayner, Virginia Ironside, Evelyn Home and Marje Proops in our country). This gave me a grounding in understanding feminine and relationship issues, as well as inspiration behind this series (written a few years ago).
