The Breeze

The room has an old Victorian Style.
Everything in its place, just as it should be.
Deep colours and heavy furniture.

Thick velvet curtains with a delicate lace inner, frame the windows
Shutters tightly locked to safe guard the room.

I cross the thick lush carpet and draw back the curtains
I listen.... apprehensive at first, as I don’t know what’s outside the window.

The softest sound....is it a whisper....laughter perhaps?
I unlatch the window and raise it from its cradle.

A stirring deep inside me... what could this be? An air of excitement.
I place my hands on the shutters pausing..... wondering.... and then push them open.

The sun so bright I close my eyes for a second.
Then I feel it.... a soft warm touch to my lips...... gently brushing my cheek and running its fingers thru my hair.

I open my eyes and see a magnificent landscape before me...bathed in warm sunshine
The breeze gently filling my room..... the lace curtain swirling back as it rides the breeze.

With it the songs of birds and sweet fragrance of flowers from outside.
My room slowly begins to reveal what was hidden from the sunlight

Beautiful happy colours. ... glittering gems.... and intricate furniture.
The breeze fills the entire room.... every nook and corner....leaving nothing untouched.

I feel energized and begin twirling like a little girl on a dance floor as the breeze dances with me
Lifting..... twirling.....caressing..... and protecting

I turn and watch the affect the breeze has to my room.... little swirls of dust is lifted off the furniture and dance in the air.... a leaf or two are carried in thru the window and gently come to rest on the carpet.

I giggle and feel free for the first time in my life.
Running back to the window to open it as much as possible

Willing more of the breeze to fill my room.... with all that it is.
Happiness....beauty.... songs.... joy.....freedom..... most of all freedom
