Guardian Raven
The raven takes flight through the moonlit sky
From it’s perch upon the tombstone set
A hundred years ago from a sacrifice made
From the prophecy the midnight council drew
Awaiting the darkest hours of nightshade to cloak the earth
This century old guard of the grave
Begins the second part of it’s purpose of existence
To find the child born unto the human race
With the flesh of man but the blood of a god
He must be found and led to where the raven
Had been perched for so long to bring about
A darkness inconceivable to the rest of the world
For the grave is also the gate to the god of Night
From an innocent mortal life the child once knew
Is about to be changed forever with what he shall do
To recite the inscription written as an epitaph
Is going to blind him with the power of the dark
As he approaches the gate of night of the prophecy
Led by the deceiver the guardian of the gate
An ominous gothic power he begins to feel
But naïve and ignorant he continues onwards
He does not realize the power he’s about to release
As he reaches the tomb of the sacrifice made
He foolishly reads whispering under his breath
The inscription upon the headstone to seal his fate
“Here once laid the council’s sacrifice made
Now shall lay the god’s new servant”
The tomb caught a freezing blackened blaze
As the god of night herself entered this world
Pure darkness cloaks the world forever
And the midnight councils smiles down
Their faithful friend the raven had not failed them
Mankind now suffers forever all because of the guardian raven
