Despite the fact you’re wearing red
You’d said “It’s better to be red then dead!”
Despite conservative voting trends
We still remain the best of friends

Despite the fact I’m wearing blue
And I cannot agree with you
I won’t restrict your liberty
It applies to you and me

Despite the fact some riot and hate
And try to stifle free debate
We both deserve our liberty
Our free speech and democracy

Despite we know, that love beats all
I’m here to catch you if you fall
