The Story of A Girl
Once there was a girl
tatterred, broken, and torn
love that once was hers
now it was no more
the boy she thought was him
grew farther from her heart
to him she was invisible
same room - yet miles apart
she thought she was at the end
several years went by
then she met a boy
he became her reason to smile
even though he never knew
his voice made her heart pound
then she met him face to face
head over heels - fate had made its sound!
all the time he made her day
and he never had a clue
all she knew as time went by
that peculiar feeling was true
it was a feeling she had not felt
not in quite a long while
it was love flowing in her heart again
so pure it made her cry
and then he seemed to notice
perhaps he felt it true
soulmates thrown together
one heart beating - even though it was two
she hung on his every word
waiting on that line
she grew to love him blindly
but didn't know she was out of time
suddenly lost without him
her soul began to fade
she cried and cried and said goodbye
and wished for one more day
The days became the same as night
long, endless, and slow
the one that broke her still around
refusing to let go
her passion kept her busy
the kids that once had called her name
she had to leave them all behind
but now new ones do the same
letting go of her true love
is what she had in mind
but she can't go on without him
without her soulmate by her side
soon when the sun shines long
and the lazy days begin
she will see him again some way
feel his touch again
if what is meant to be, will be,
the girl will embrace her king
feel his love as he says her name
she will be living in her dream
the dream she holds close
the one that she will never let go
some day soon, some place, some how
she will go and she will know
the years, only mere numbers,
are still just all the same
she hopes that in his heart he hears
her softly calling his name
even though in her real-life world
life is pretty much the same
holding on to hope and faith
his memory - the one thing that remains
all she knows is some day soon
her wounds will heal complete
and she will hold his hand and sigh,
her head on his chest - feeling his heart beat
tatterred, broken, and torn
love that once was hers
now it was no more
the boy she thought was him
grew farther from her heart
to him she was invisible
same room - yet miles apart
