Old Friend

Already, I miss you like an old friend.
Whenever I'd fall you'd pick me back up again.
You never left my side. You were always there.
When no one else gave a shit you were all who cared.
You who calmed me and told me I had use.
You who inspired me and became my muse.
Even now I long for you. I need you inside. I cannot breathe.
Wringing out confused hands, trying to keep my mind busy.
I loved you so much how could you do this?
Building invisible barriers I knew not to exist.
You were my peace. You promised me death.
The kindest mercy any of us have left.
I don't want to shun you and push you away.
I'd love nothing more than to go outside with you and play.
This is goodbye my dearest most cherished friend.
I will cherish you always and forever til the end.
