Rat in the field corn
no longer a mouse in this maze
Blessed with flame to wield
Send me forth to RAZE!
The Great Fire
purifies in so many ways;
does a mean job of cleaning
the worst rooms of the Lord's house;
purges a father's lies and perverse betrayal
reverse remembers these bitter memories
first into embers, then ash
Set ablaze every dumpster
overflowing with trash
boldly give a finger to the Man
Defiance brings us closer
to living in a real Free Zone
A life you can truly call your own
My life for you

When it comes to fire
I know a trick or two!
The opportunity to atone
on a grand scale subatomic
Cook this world's flesh
well done to the bone

You have a way of removing the meat from the potatoes & gravy in these things. Leaving only the bare essence to reflect upon. Ironically, this essence applies to many horror platforms across the spectrum. It's almost like dissecting an essay down to its outline.

Trashcan Man is my favorite character from The Stand.
All he does is of his own free will. He is pure selfishness, incapable of changing for anyone else's benefit. As with pyromania, you would normally attribute such destructive behavior to an evil person.
Yet his portrayal is that of a servant willing to give up everything ( except his obsession with fire ). And he becomes instrumental in undoing everything that Flagg tries to accomplish.
No matter where you stand, Evil has no true allegiance and without the benefit that comes from associating with Good, is doomed to destroy itself. The fate of Evil is predetermined.
It has a limited lifespan. You only need to outlive it. Thus, the fate of Good is also predetermined. Wherever and whenever Evil appears, Good will eventually prevail without having to do anything special.
The "Hand of God" that manifests from the magic cast by Flagg that goes on to detonate the nuclear warhead Trash recovered is the power of Evil that becomes its own undoing.
