There will be no surrender - except to you,
When to the other side we have come through.
The war is with those who'd keep us apart,
Who would not let this relationship start.
When that day comes I will throw my arms up
Welcoming you, let you drink from my cup.

Who cares if your people think me a whore?

This was one I tried writing looking at the concept of 'no surrender over a relationship', the point of Dido's song. (Although this did not stop a Far Right group selling that love song to raise funds for its ends on a website, which was deservedly closed down.)
