Regret & Torment
So what’s another crack to the broken hearted.
I should have known from the moment that we started.
Regret and torment.
Empty words and broken promises. I should have learned from the rest, but I hoped for the best.
I took a deep breath and dove headfirst.
I thought you could be the one I could trust.
But now I can’t breathe and I’m being dragged under.
The lightning strikes and I hear the roar of thunder. I gasp for air but all I can taste is you.
I call out for help but you just sit there and stare.
I scream out your name but you never came.
Let the pain pull me down and drown me now.
I’ll sink deeper and deeper.
I couldn’t speak, I couldn’t think.
All I could do was want.
All I could do was want you.
